MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
William D. Oliver is a Professor of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics at MIT, as well as a Lincoln Laboratory Fellow. He directs the MIT Center for Quantum Engineering and serves on the National Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee.
Oliver’s research focuses on building and controlling superconducting qubits—the building blocks of quantum computers—and developing the advanced electronics needed to operate them. He earned degrees from the University of Rochester, MIT, and Stanford University, and has been a leader in quantum research at MIT for over two decades.
