Systems Engineering expertise is essential in almost every technical role in Boeing. As the systems we create become increasingly complex, the strategies, tools and process we use to architect and design these systems continue to evolve. As a part of Boeing’s investment in technical excellence and the continuous development of its technical team, we’ve partnered with MIT and NASA to provide this important training in a format designed to leverage the most advanced learning methods and accommodate almost any schedule.
Employing industry case studies and the latest in systems thinking from MIT, this four-course certificate program explores models and methods in systems engineering. You will gain a knowledge base in complex systems, analysis of complex systems, and model management that will impact how you approach and solve problems. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to frame systems architecture as a series of decisions, which can be actively sorted, managed, and optimized to suit you and your team’s needs.
This program is eligible for the Boeing Learning Together Program (LTP). Please check your eligibility to participate and then follow these instructions to enroll.

"The certificate [program] blends industry and academic expertise and represents a scalable solution for employers."
"This program has helped me develop the system level perspective necessary to decompose complex system architecture problems and solve them in ways that enable rapid prototyping to reach the optimum."
"If I had to borrow one quote to summarize what I gained from this course, it would be the quote by Lou Holtz: "It's not the load that breaks you down, it's the way you carry it". I learned how to "carry" the weight of complex problems effectively by applying "Systems Thinking". Thank you, MIT for offering this program."
"During my time studying for the MBSE course, I realized that the architecture of models begins where the engineering part ends."
"I believe [my new knowledge] will increase our ability to assure and deliver quality to our customers, streamline our development process and improve our ability to conceive and configure new product offerings."
"I can definitely say that I have learned more about Systems Engineering, decomposing a system, architectural frameworks, and roles of the System Architect. The videos were easy to understand, easy to follow and kept me engaged using real-life examples. They broke up the monotony of constantly reading."
"This course provides a structured way of thinking which I can apply to frame architectural and other critical decisions."
"I loved the course, even if it was intimidating to study with so many “real engineers”. I’m using what I learned to change the way we do architecture in software systems."
"How to think holistically for the system, to design, model, compose and decompose it - this is what I have learned with MIT's "Architecture and Systems Engineering". And I am applying this knowledge in my daily work ever since."
This certificate program is especially relevant for those in aerospace, automotive, and defense.
It’s also designed for systems engineering professionals, directors, and senior managers across a number of industries looking to innovate and optimize their operational, manufacturing, and design systems.
